2016 WORLD CUP OF WAKEBOARD WATERSKIING FINAL TOUR STOP

Cap Cana, Dominican Republic – The World Wakeboard Association (WWA) and Punta Cana based wakeboard park, Real Action Daily recently announced that the Final Tour Stop of the 2016 World Cup of Wakeboard Waterskiing will be hosted in Cap Cana and Downtown Punta Cana in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on October 8th – 9th, 2016. This is the first time the WWA World Championship has been hosted in the Dominican Republic. More than 50 of the world’s best professional wake-boarder athletes from at least 8 different countries are coming to compete in this highly anticipated event on the world class waters of Cap Cana.

The Vice Minister of Sports for the Dominican Republic, Marcos Diaz stated; “ “We are excited to see the World Wakeboard Association Punta Cana Pro coming to our country. The sport of wakeboarding has a new home at RAD Park in Downtown Punta Cana and we expect to see some local champions developed here in the near future.

The WWA is the highest level of competition for the sport of wakeboarding and a great way to put Dominican Republic on the map as a new year around destination for the warm weather sport.

The organisers have confirmed current and past world champions with athletes from the U.S.A., Australia, Europe, Asia, Central America and more confirming daily. The competition events will take place Saturday, October 8th at RAD Park in Downtown Punta Cana from 1PM – 7PM and Sunday, October 9th at Api Beach Bar in Cap Cana from 1PM-6PM. DJ’s, bands and night time fun will also be part of the program for the entire weekend in Punta Cana.

The Wakeboard Cable Park event in Downtown Punta Cana will be combined with a birthday celebration for X-Games Champion and MTV Nitro Circus star, Travis Pastrana. Pastrana and his friends will join the wakeboard event by way of Skydiving and Dirt bikes. Rock and Roll music will also accompany the action packed day. Some activities will also be available to the public.

Cap Cana will be the site for the Malibu Evolution Series final. The beautiful Caribbean and luxurious surrounding of Cap Cana will be a unique and impressive venue for the World’s best riders. The Malibu M25 wakeboard boat will be towing the world’s best wakeboard water skiers with more that $200,000 USD in prize money to be awarded at the end of the weekend.

NBC Sports Network will be present and filming the action both days with TV distribution to more than 120 million households in U.S.A. and Europe.
