Cap Cana was awarded the best in The Hotel, Investment, and Development Category at the second version of the Luis Augusto Caminero award.

The Central Bank auditorium was the setting for the second edition of the Luis Augusto Caminero award. In this scenario, Yenny Polanco Lovera, president of Adompretur valued the support for the association provided by the Government and public business, which in this time of significant challenges joined their efforts in a common goal”.

Tourism Minister David Collado was awarded the “Supreme Merit Award in Dominican Tourism” at the event by the organizing entity, the Dominican Tourism Press Association (Adompretur).

The National Institute for Professional Technical Training (Infotep) was also recognized in the “Education and Tourism” category; chef Inés Páez (Chef Tita) in “Gastronomy and Tourism”; and Los 27 puddles of Damajagua in “Community Tourism”.

In “Tourism, Art and Culture” the León Center was recognized; Dr. José Natalio Redondo obtained the distinction of “Health Tourism”; the municipality of Jarabacoa won in the “Internal Tourism” category. Elizabeth Tovar won in the “Meeting Tourism” category.

Similarly, the Popular Foundation and the Punta Cana Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) received two statuettes for their “Corporate Social Responsibility” work. In “Hotels, Investment and Development” won Cap Cana; the “Queen of Merengue”, Milly Quezada won in the “Dominican Republic Brand” category and President Luis Abinader, was the “Tourist Person of the Year”.

During the activity, a posthumous tribute was held to Rita Cabrer, a lady who made great contributions to tourism journalism through the “Bohío” magazine, from the “La Cotica” guide; he was also president of Adompretur. The recognition was received by Reynaldo Caminero, grandson of Doña Rita and Luis Augusto, who today continues the legacy of these two great human beings, occupying the executive management of Cabrer editions.
