THE FINAL OF THE GOLF CHANNEL AM TOUR 2019 WAS IN PUNTA ESPADA

The Golf Channel AM Tour Dominican Republic closed its 2019 season at the Punta Espada golf course in Cap Cana.

Players who have competed for the last seven months in order to become national champions attended the event. The competitors came from Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic. The Tour played seven stops of the Dominican Republic: The Links, La Estancia, Cana Bay, GC Corals, Punta Blanca, Dye Fore Golf Course, and culminated for the Grand Final at Punta Espada, a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. On this occasion, 10 flights were awarded, of which, for having participated in all the stops, several players obtained the right to play “The Nationals” at the PGA National complex in Palm Beach, Florida.

National Champions: In the Flying Championship the champion was Patrick Hafner. Andrés Marranzini won the Palmer Flight. Teófilo Valera obtained the flight of Hogan, Arístides Fernández in Sarazen, Modesto Díaz triumphed in Jones and Davide Crocci took the Snead. For the Seniors: Roger Alba in Hogan, Kjell Nord in Sarazen, Patrick Danesin in Jones, and Walter Leoni repeated in the Snead Senior Flight for the third consecutive year. Each one obtained as a prize and in addition to the trophy the received courtesy products of the Tour sponsors.

Final Stop: The weekend event was won by Patrick Hafner (Championship), Ed Creque (Palmer), Yoshiro Higuchi (Hogan), Elisaben Matos (Sarazen), Luis Miniño (Jones), Manuel Mesa (Snead), and Marcos Rodriguez (Senior Hogan).

The party – awards dinner was held at the Flamenco Plaza of the Ancora Hotel in Cap Cana, and was enlivened by the Decibeles Group and a DJ.
