CAP CANA CELEBRATES A SECOND INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT FCBESCOLA LAS AMÉRICAS SETTING A NEW TOURNAMENT MILESTONE

The facilities of Los Establos at Cap Cana will receive around 500 boys and girls, from 8 to 13 years old,representing 13 FCBEscolas and FCBCamps from 7 different countries.

For the second consecutive year, the grass fields of Los Establos at Cap Cana, Dominican Republic will host the celebration of the FCBEscola Las Americas International Tournament, a regional competition between the different FCBEscolas of the American continent and that also counts with the participation of Japanese and Barcelona schools. This second edition, which starts this Friday, December 15, sets a new milestone, since it will surpass by almost 40% the number of teams participants of the first Las Americas Tournament. FCBEscola Katsushika Rakuten and FCBEscola Barcelona have been the first to arrive on the Caribbean island to start preparing for the competition.

The second edition of the tournament, the only one to be held outside the facilities of FC Barcelona, will have a total of 38 integrated teams for half a thousand children between 8 and 13 years They will represent 7 countries and 13 different FCBEscolas and FCBCamps. This sports meeting and of the players of the FCBEscola family will meet in three days in the Dominican Republic sportsmen from Japan (FCBEscola Fukuoka Rakuten and FCBEscola Katsushika Rakuten), Brazil (FCBEscola Rio de Janeiro), Colombia (FCBEscola Bogotá), Guatemala (FCBEscola Guatemala), United States (FCBEscola Austin, FCBEscola Charlotte, FCBEscola Chicago, FCBEscola Charlotte and combinations formed by selected players of the American FCBCamps), FCBEscola Dominican Republic and FCBEscola Barcelona.

The opening ceremony will take place in the center of the main polo field of Los Establos at Cap Cana this Friday, December 15 at 9:00h, just one hour before the ball starts rolling with the first games of the Formation category and will be presided by the director of the FCBEscola Dominican Republic, Fabeka Lebrón, and will be accompanied by the Project Director International FCBEscola of America and the Middle East, Fredi Martín. The finals of the FCBEscola Las Americas International Tournament will take place on the same stage on Sunday 17 from 12:00pm.

 

Great growth of participation

This second edition is accompanied by a large increase in participation after the great Organizational success of the one held in the same facilities just one year ago. Especially has the number of participants in the Training categories (born in 2008 and 2009) and of competition (2004 and 2005), since the first has added 50% more equipment while the The second has doubled last year’s figure, going from 6 in 2016 to 12 this year.
