CAP CANA CELEBRATES ITS GOLF CUP TO CONMEMORATE PUNTA ESPADA GOLF COURSE 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Within the framework of a weekend of activities, the Punta Espada Golf Course in Cap Cana celebrated its tenth anniversary with the completion of the fourth edition of the Cap Cana Golf Cup tournament, to benefit the Forjando Un Futuro Foundation.

The event began with a welcome cocktail held at La Mona restaurant, at Juanillo Beach, chaired by Ricardo Hazoury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cap Cana, Efren Garcia-Estrada, Director of Punta Espada, Pamela Betances, Lissette Lora de Hazoury and Pilar Zarazua, of the Forjando Un Futuro Foundation.

The majestic golf course of the signature design of Jack Nicklaus received Saturday 174 national and international players, who gathered at the start of the day, while enjoying the various amenities prepared for the occasion in each hole of the course, in the driving range and in the clubhouse.

Tournament winners were Cesar Rodriguez and Marcel Olivares who obtained the best overall gross score. The first of Class A went to Ignacio Perez and Jorge Bell; the second was obtained by Enrique Rodriguez and Matias Mut; and the third position was obtained Julio Jesus and Leo Simo. In Category B, first were Jensen Martinez and Reyson Pimentel; second place Jose Hernandez and Nelson Liriano; and third Alain Abreu and Mario Lovatón. The C category, first place was won by Margaret Halpern and Ernesto Purcel; the second by Luis Saviñón and Gustavo Batista, and third Alejandro Yanes and Luis A. Carbuccia.

Special awards were accounted for Simon Fernandez, George Bell and Carlos Arias, longest drive, closet to the pin and longest drive on holes 2, 16 and 15, respectively, counting on the technical direction of Efren Garcia, Golf Director, playing in Scramble Stableford-format.

Tournament winners received their awards as part of the anniversary celebration, themed “Made in DR” which highlighted dominicanity, talent, wealth and beauty of the country, in a vibrant, fun and colorful scenery, invigorated by Milly Quezada, Leo Subervi and Be Crazy.
