CAP CANA CELEBRATES PUNTA ESPADA’S ANNIVERSARY SAFARI STYLE
Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. December, 2017. During a safari style weekend, Cap Cana celebrated the 11th anniversary of the renowned Punta Espada golf course, within the framework of the fifth edition of the Cap Cana Golf Cup, a tournament that stands out for offering a unique experience for golfers and their companions and that each year is done in benefit of the Forjando un Futuro Foundation.
The natural environment offered by the Cap Cana destination, allowed recreating nature appreciation expeditions, during the game the golfers enjoyed exceptional attention and were able to observe in their natural habitat the flocks of brown pelicans in hole three, the rhinoceros iguana in the 9th hole and many other species of birds including the imposing hawk of Hispaniola.
Dr. Ricardo Hazoury, president of the Council of the tourist hotel and real estate destination, accompanied by Efrén García-Estrada, Director of Punta Espada, Pamela Freixas de Betances, President of the Forjando Un Futuro Foundation welcomed the players in the Bella Vista restaurant of the Punta Espada Golf Club.
The winners of the tournament were Cesar Rodríguez and Wascar Jorge, who obtained the best overall gross score. The first place in Category A were Edilio Flores and Angel Sartorius; in second place James Hunt and James Anderson; and in the third place were Kevin and Enrique Rodríguez. In Category B, the winners of the first place were Elijah Pichardo and Simón Fernández; in second place Alberto Flores and Clifton Ramírez; and in third place Sebastiano Di Bari and Juan García. While in Category C, the winners of the first place were Rafael Álvarez and Gregorio Martínez; in second place Luis Moreno and Luis Francis; and in third place Javier Donoso and Juan Moreno.
In the framework of the tournament and to the benefit of the Forjando un Futuro Foundation, the photographic exhibition “Capturando Imágenes por una Causa” was presented by photographers Thiago Da Cuna, Roger Zayas Bazán and Jochi Marichal, who presented 10 photographs each, all inspired in the natural beauty of Cap Cana.
The great anniversary and awards ceremony was held at the Scape Park beach club located in Juanillo, it became an unforgettable night, fun and danceable to the rhythm of the drums, that made each of the guests vibrate.
