There are many well-known faces that have chosen in recent years to spend Christmas in the sun while in the rest of Spain we are at sub-zero temperatures. “At Christmas, we always go to one of our hotels in the Caribbean all together with my grandfather,” exclusively told Vanity Fair Lydia Monforte Matutes, the eldest granddaughter of former minister and hotel businessman Abel Matutes. And they have done it again this year.

The Matutes are staying in Cap Cana, one of the most luxurious areas of the country located to the east of the island and about 15 minutes from Punta Cana Airport. The privileged who can stay in this area enjoy a luxury destination in the that you can practice fishing, diving, or golf, a discipline that the father of the young woman, Alejandro Monfort, is fond of, according to his youngest daughter María taught on Instagram. Despite the fact that Alejandro and Carmen Matutes (Abel Matutes’s eldest daughter and considered one of the most powerful women in Spain), the ex-marriage gets along wonderfully and they usually spend the Christmas holidays all together as a family.

Cap Cana is built in a natural bay and has impressive landscapes in which the ocean, cliffs, and tropical forests mix with kilometers of white sand beaches and turquoise waters.
