CHEF BETO PUERTA FROM SANTOBOKADO AT EDEN ROC’S BLUE GRILL + BAR

Executive Chef of one of Caracas’ Top Restaurants will present a 13-course menu on April 13th

As part of the resort’s special Easter Week Program, Eden Roc at Cap Cana is delighted to announce the upcoming visit of Chef Jorge “Beto” Puerta for a 13-course tasting menu at BLUE Grill + Bar on Thursday April 13th, showcasing the cuisine of his acclaimed Caracas restaurant SantoBokado.

Jorge “Beto” Puerta has spent 13 of his 30 years dedicated to the kitchen. He belongs to a generation of young Venezuelan chefs who take on the bridles of restaurants in these times of challenges for his country and has done so in a place where he has achieved his ambitions: SantoBokado, opened since November of 2015 in Caracas’ Altamira Village. In this place, which Chef Puerta opened with his brother and another partner, seeks a seal of his own, original dishes with avant-garde touches and elements of the Venezuelan and Latin American cuisines are presented. Puerta was formed in Caracas, but then had the opportunity to work with two universal references of fine dining in Spain: the 3-Michelin starred El Bulli and El Celler de Can Roca, where he went through several fundamental apprenticeships. The first opened his mind to see that there are no limits in the kitchens, and the Roca family taught him humility and respect for the management of personnel. SantoBokado, his first restaurant, opened after 5 years of development and there Chef Puerta proposes dishes created for sharing, such as pork ribs candied for 12 hours with mashed Jojoto, its interpretation of the Vuelve a la Vida, or the Japo-arepitas, a version of Reina Papeada with wakame.

“SantoBokado at BLUE Grill + Bar” will be a tasting event on Thursday April 13th. The price per person is USD 180 including taxes and service charges. Children are charged 50% of the regular price. Wine pairings by the resort’s expert Sommelier is not included in the event price, and will be available at an additional cost of USD 85.00 per person.
