As you all know the DR Jazz fest will be celebrated this upcoming August 31st at Los Establos, Cap Cana. On Friday 30th there will be a Jam at Api beach. For both days music, culture and art will be recognized. With the motto “A Tribute to jazz in Latin America” ​ the saxophonist and composer Walter Smith III as a guest of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute will perform; the multi-time Grammy Award winner and one of the most important Latin jazz pianists of all time, Chucho Valdés and the Dominican salsa artist José Alberto “El Canario” who aldo has Grammys.

Educational workshops will be held on Friday 30 in the morning. At night the Jam will be held in the Marina of Cap Cana. At 7:00 pm the next day, the concert will be held in Los Establos Cap Cana. On September 1st the paint workshop will be held at API Beach.

Marco Pignataro, artistic advisor of the festival, and executive director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, designated that the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival 2019 pays tribute to jazz in Latin America.

The musical event, which is held annually, is organized by the Educational Foundation Jazz Festival of the Dominican Republic, and has the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Cap Cana, the US Embassy and Karisma.
