Source: El Caribe

Cap Cana.- The Touristic Communications and Telephony Corporation of Juanillo (CC & TEL), a provider of telecommunications services in the Cap Cana destination, and Claro Dominicana, the telecommunications company, signed an agreement for the deployment of a 144-wire fiber optic network, combined with GPON access technology under the G.894x or FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) industry standard, which will allow all services to be carried by the same means to the tourist, hotel, commercial and residential destination.

The strategic alliance between these two major brands will contribute to the strengthening of the already present telecommunications infrastructure in Cap Cana, thus providing each client with the possibility to enjoy scalability, security and optimal performance in provided services.

With an investment of nearly one million dollars, Cap Cana will extend 34,000 meters of fiber optic cable from CC & TEL to residences. This will allow a reengineering of its internal and external plant that will result in stronger service and experience quality.

Cap Cana has a service infrastructure of more than US $ 1,000 mm of investment to date, more than 100kms (62 miles) of distribution lines and 50 km of fiber optic for voice, data and TV transmission. Wireless coverage is also widely available on the property.
