DR GOLF TRAVEL EXCHANGE HOLED IN ONE ITS 5TH EDITION AT SECRETS CAP CANA

The luxurious Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa hotel, from the AM Resorts hotel chain, is the host hotel and venue for the second time for the DR Golf.

With the participation of 85 international delegates representing 46 tour operators and 26 international media specialized in the golf industry, the fifth edition of the Dominican Republic Golf Travel Exchange ,held from September 1st to the 6th, is the first and only commercialization event that aims to continue consolidating our country as the golf capital of Latin America and the Caribbean.
DR Golf 2018 takes place for the second time at the Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa hotel, and was inaugurated during a cocktail party chaired by the executive director of TARGET Marketing Consultants, event organizer, Mr. Teddy De Lara; Mr. Fausto Fernandez, international deputy minister of the Ministry of Tourism; Mr. Andres Marranzini, executive vice president of ASONAHORES; Lionel Gomez and Daniel Hernandez, general manager of the hotel and vice president of operations of the AM Resorts chain, respectively. In addition, top hotel executives, managers of golf courses and receptive tour operators of the country were present.

Mr. Teddy De Lara said in his opening remarks that “our golf tourism offers make us proud and position us as the best golf destination in the Caribbean and Latin America; and that by the end of this year the contributions to the economy could reach some 381 million dollars.
“According to the statistics published by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) at the end of the 2nd semester of this year, the golfers visitors have grown by 10.5% and with expectations of an additional increase of 8.5% for the remainder of the 2018, “said Mr. De Lara.
De Lara also stressed that the official authorities should take advantage of the exceptional conditions that the country has to promote golf as a high priority niche market and implement international actions aimed at maximizing the strength it represents for tourism Dominican.
“The Dominican golf industry, is a sector that does not stop growing, also has an added value that differs from the offer of sun and beach. Golf can be a magnificent complement to culture and gastronomy.” he said.
