FROM ST. THOMAS TO CAP CANA, 7 PLACES TO VISIT IN SEPTEMBER

August 30, 2018|by Cap Cana News

Article repost from Caribbean Journal

It’s nearly autumn, but the Caribbean is as green and beautiful as ever — and if you come to the region right now, you’ll find uncrowded beaches, cool evening breezes and, perhaps most importantly, the best rates you’ll find all year.

So what are you waiting for? Here are seven places to visit in the Caribbean in September.

St Kitts

St Kitts The Caribbean has a new luxury destination, and it’s called St Kitts. The tiny, lovable island is home to the first-ever Park Hyatt hotel in the Caribbean, the Park Hyatt St Kitts, an ultra-luxe property that has immediately catapulted the destination into the minds of luxury travelers the world over. And there’s even more to explore, from world-class golf to Port Zante, one of the few Caribbean cruise ports that’s actually worth visiting if you’re not on a cruise ship.

Cap Cana

You’ll find some of the most astonishingly luxurious rooms in the entire Caribbean here.

Cap Cana Tucked away in greater Punta Cana is this private development that’s one of the Caribbean’s great luxury oases. The centerpiece? The Eden Roc at Cap Cana, the best Caribbean luxury hotel you’ve never heard of, home to beautiful suites, world-class food and impeccable service. Oh, and some of the best golf in the region, too.

Harbour Island

Harbour Island The Bahamas’ capital of chic is certainly quieter in the late summer, but you’ll still find a place that oozes charm. Whether you want to grab an inspired cocktail at the new Harbour Bar or have an unforgettable meal at The Landing, there’s a reason Harbour Island is one of the Caribbean’s most sought-after destinations. And if you’re going to stay a while, make sure you try Valentines Resort.

Cayman Brac

Le Soleil d’Or.

Cayman Brac Maybe you’ve been to Seven Mile Beach and Stingray City, Rum Point and Camana Bay. But there is so much more to the Cayman Islands than Grand Cayman. This is Cayman Brac, the tranquil, secluded isle that’s home to myriad snorkeling and diving spots, great little bakeries and a halo hotel, the farm-to-table-focused Le Soleil d’Or.

Condado

A suite at Olive.

The O:live Boutique Hotel in Condado.

Condado Plainly, it’s time to start viewing San Juan’s Condado district as a full-fledged destination in its own right. Whether you’re looking for luxury shopping, casinos, inspired stays like the O:live Boutique Hotel or rooftop pools, this is as hip, fresh and cool a destination as you’ll find in the Caribbean right now. And it’s so action-packed and self-contained you could come here for a weekend and not even step foot in the rest of San Juan.

Cartagena

Cartagena This is another side of the region, the southern shores of the Caribbean Sea, where you’ll find one of the most magical cities in the hemisphere: Cartagena, an increasingly hip getaway that marries historic charm with modern, five-star hotels and a marvelous beach, highlighted by the brand-new (and spectacular) Conrad Cartagena.

St Thomas

St Thomas Yes, the US Virgin Islands is making a comeback, and its most beloved place to stay is back: the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. All of the things you love about St Thomas are here: the friendly people, the ultra-laid-back ambience and the seemingly endless array of activities. It’s the St Thomas you’ve always known — and it’s ready for your return.
