THE START OF WORKS OF THE HYATT ZIVA & ZILARA CAP CANA WAS PRESENTED WITH THE PRESENCE OF PRESIDENT MEDINA

The new Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara hotels will feature 750 hotel rooms.

Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, July 12, 2017. With the support of President Danilo Medina, Playa Hotels & Resorts Corporation presented the start of construction of its hotels Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, in the famous tourist real estate destination, located in the Punta Cana area.

The President was received by the top executives of Playa Hotels & Resorts, Bruce Wardinski, Chairman and CEO; Alex Stadlin, President and Chief Operating Officer; Fernando Mulet, Vice President of Development and Acquisitions, accompanied by Carlos Cabrera, Senior Vice President of Global All Inclusive at Hyatt Operations, as well as Abraham Hazoury, Ricardo Hazoury and Fernando Hazoury of the Cap Cana Board of Directors. Also present were José Ramón Peralta, Administrative Minister of the Presidency; Francisco Javier García, Minister of Tourism; Gonzalo Castillo, Minister of Public Works and Simon Lizardo, General Manager of the Banco de Reservas.

Bruce Wardinski, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Playa Hotels & Resorts, said, “Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana are our next step in the expansion strategy of Playa in the Caribbean. Establishing our resorts in Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic meet a long-term goal and complements our growing portfolio of properties and satisfies the growing need of our guests. “

Abraham Hazoury, Member of the Board of Directors of Cap Cana, stated that “the construction of these two new hotel infrastructures by this important investor and with such an accredited brand will strengthen the destination of the Dominican Republic in the North American market and is a sign of confidence and credibility for the country, the government and for the Cap Cana  destination. ” He highlighted that “Cap Cana to date has a completed and operative first world infrastructure, able to support 20,000 new hotel rooms, and is interconnected to the regional electricity grid to guarantee electricity in any circumstance, while being immersed in an environmentally sustainable action plan with the decision to become the most ecologically friendly and greenest destination in the Dominican Republic. “

During the ceremony, the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García, emphazised that “these modern hotels are the greatest evidence of the confidence that investors have in the Dominican Republic.” He affirmed that tourism is at its best and that the Eastern Region continues to bring more than 60% of the tourists who visit the country.

 Transforming the “all inclusive” market, the contemporary architectural design hotel complex will feature 750 rooms between both properties – Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva – with different views and levels along Juanillo Beach. There will also be a convention center, event rooms, specialty restaurants, bars, theater, shops and a water park with slides for children and adults, among other accommodations.

By investing in this new project of two Hyatt hotels, Playa Hotels & Resorts continues its goal of creating long-term value through the development and operation of upscale resorts in a location of spectacular beauty and luxury like Cap Cana, And in an attractive market such as the Dominican Republic.
