Celebrate Hogmanay, the Scottish New Year, in grand style at Gleneagles, Perthshire’s grand estate. A highlight of the year for many, the celebrations will include a sumptuous black-tie dinner, live music, bagpipes and drums. Spend the day enjoying the property’s signature pursuits such as a Trackman Combine Test at the Golf Academy, an outdoor treasure hunt, air rifle shooting, Scottish country dance lessons, champagne tasting and more. For those looking to ring in 2020 in style, The St. Regis Rome’s Ritz Ballroom will play host to a New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner with a live orchestra. The black-tie affair will include a special menu designed by Executive Chef Francesco Donatelli, live orchestra and DJ set, and a New Year countdown with a Brut’ R De Ruinart Champagne Ceremony at midnight. The gala is priced at 650 euros per person, which includes wines and champagne. New York
The St. Regis New York will continue its much-anticipated, annual holiday pop-up tradition with the debut of Jack’s Champagne Club, a hidden lobby-level champagne bar, for holiday 2019. Located just off the beloved lobby, the hotel’s Cognac Room will debut a new design from CHAMPALIMAUD Design and, for the holiday season only, be transformed into an intimate lounge offering exclusive champagne tastings, canapés and more, including a premiere champagne package with luxury silversmith Puiforcat. Beginning November 29th and reserved through Tock, those who visit will gain access to exclusive tastings of Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame, Dom Perignon, Krug, Moet MCIII and other vintages, alongside tastefully paired canapés and small bites from the hotel’s signature restaurant, Astor Court. The intimate space will be adorned in glistening hues of silver and gold and boast a stunning tree inspired by champagne bubbles. Tables feature a “press for champagne” button to encourage guests to relax and imbibe with family and friends in front of the room’s historic fireplace, while hosts pour champagne from a custom champagne gueridon. In partnership with Puiforcat, the exceptional French luxury silversmith, Jack’s Champagne Club will offer a premium champagne package open to the public featuring the house’s Timbales à Champagne, champagne silver tumblers. Designed to extol the aromas of the liquid and to heighten the tasting experience, the Puiforcat sterling silver Champagne Tumbler will serve as the ideal vessel for a specialty tasting. Following the experience, guests will be able to take the tumbler home to enjoy. The limited package costs $1,904 for two guests (plus taxes and service fees).
London
Claridge’s Christmas Tree has long been a seasonal London landmark and symbolizes the start of the festive season in the capital, drawing visitors and Londoners alike to admire its delightful design. This year’s tree has been imagined by Christian Louboutin, a longtime guest of the Mayfair hotel. The tree stands in the center of the hotel lobby and is adorned with sparkling lights, red and gold baubles, shoe-shaped gingerbread biscuits and topped off with a glistening gold leaf crown adding the finishing touch. His creation is accompanied by The Loubi Express, a glittering red train positioned in the snowy forest clearing of the lobby. The Loubi Express is home to an intimate dining carriage complete with four tables, its own Cocktail Conductor offering champagne, cocktails and Claridge’s classic canapés complete with a nostalgic Christmas soundtrack. Tables will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, and The Loubi Express is open through December 31.
Stay at or visit The Berkeley this Christmas and step into a modern-day winter wonderland. Guests will be greeted at The Berkeley with a twinkling, show stopping snowfall holiday installation, which graces the entrance of the hotel during the festive season, and have the opportunity to enjoy special, celebratory menus on Christmas Day. Additionally, the popular Rooftop Winter Cinema will return to The Berkeley. Overlooking Belgravia and offering sweeping views of Hyde Park, The Berkeley’s rooftop garden has transformed into a festive forest cinema for the holiday season. As London’s only private rooftop cinema, the pine-lined outdoor theater welcomes guests to snuggle into wooden huts with blankets and enjoy a menu of winter favorites and champagne while watching Christmas classics such as Home Alone and The Holiday.
