The Spanish hotel group Palladium Hotel Group plans to reopen several hotels in the Caribbean this fall, four of them in Mexico, in the Riviera Maya, and five in the Dominican Republic, four of them in Punta Cana, on November 19, and one in Cap Cana for December 18.
The Only You Atocha hotel is currently open in Madrid, while its establishments in Ibiza are closed, due to the latest government restrictions and limited capacity, reported Palladium Hotel Group, owned by Grupo Empresas Matutes (GEM).
The hotel group is following the evolution of the situation caused by COVID-19 and, if it improves in the coming weeks, it will consider if it can announce more openings, always depending on the measures and restrictions established by the Government to stop the expansion of the pandemic.
Among the establishments in the Caribbean, whose official reopening is scheduled for October 2, is the TRS Yucatan (Riviera Maya), which has received the award for the best long-distance destination hotel, awarded by TUI Global Hotel.
The award ceremony was to be held during the ITB fair in Berlin in March 2020, suspended by COVID-19 and, after several months of uncertainty, TUI wanted to reward all those hotel companies that, since the beginning of the pandemic, have known to adapt to the circumstances, doing everything possible to save the sector from a crisis and recover as soon as possible ‘normality’ in it.
This hotel of the chain is part of its TRS brand, intended solely and exclusively for adults and with a presence in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, which the Spanish hotel group plans to expand in Europe in 2022.
Palladium Hotel Group has 48 hotels (14,000 rooms) distributed in six countries -Spain, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Italy and Brazil- and operates 10 brands: TRS Hotels, Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts, Palladium Hotels, Palladium Boutique Hotels, Fiesta Hotels & Resorts, Ushuaïa Unexpected Hotels, Ayre Hotels, Only YOU Hotels, BLESS Collection Hotels and Hard Rock Hotels, under license with two hotels in Ibiza and Tenerife.
