President Sets Cornerstone for St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences

In a ceremony held on Punta Espada beach, the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, laid cornerstone to begin the construction of the luxury hotel complex “St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences ”, in a special and unique environment.

The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences will consist of a hotel with 200 luxurious rooms and 67 residences that will be for sale. Scheduled to open in April 2023, the resort will be operated by Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel firm, globally recognized for providing unmatched experiences and a loyalty club with more than 140 million members.

During the activity, Mr. Matt Knights, Regional General Manager of the Marriott firm, highlighted that “The inauguration of St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences marks an exciting moment for both Marriott International and the tourism market of the Dominican Republic. Cap Cana is truly one of the most exclusive tourist destinations in the world and fits perfectly with the iconic St. Regis brand and its guests.”

The project has multiple factors that predict its success, such as: the reputation and credibility of its shareholders, developers and promoters, its spectacular beach, its paradisiacal location, as well as its avant-garde and unique architectural concept.

Yamil Isaías, executive vice president of Pioneer, the management company of the Investment Fund that is a shareholder in the project, pointed out that: “the total investment for this project reaches two hundred and twenty million dollars and seeks to diversify the hotel offer in the country, which makes it in an iconic transaction for Dominican tourism, supported by the stock market. ”

In addition, he added, “The incorporation of the St. Regis brand to the island will diversify the hotel offer in the country, marking an important milestone for the Dominican tourism industry.”

For his part, Ing. Dino Campagna, president of Campagna Ricart & Asociados, partners, builders and promoters of the project, highlighted that “we are creating a world-class destination with the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences and we are proud to bring a new level of luxury to the Dominican Republic. ” He also added, “the project will be developed on a 67,000m2 site and 200 linear meters of the most beautiful and spectacular beach within Cap Cana.”

“The design finds its architectural inspiration in the Punta Espada golf course, by the signature and design of Jack Nicklaus, where the hotel and residence areas are integrated into the environment as if they were a natural part of the course”, added Ing. Campagna. He  highlighted that “the protection and care of the environment has been one of the most relevant design criteria.”

The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences has renowned national and international partners. INVESTA Capital Partners SRL, led the process of raising capital and financial debt for the project; AC Arquitectos y Asociados, was in charge of the project design; the interior design was led internationally by Chapi Chapo Design and locally by Alexandra Guzmán. The construction of St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences will be in hands of Campagna Ricart & Asociados and will be operated by Marriott International.

Also attending the ceremony were Mrs. Raquel Peña, Vice President of the Dominican Republic; David Collado, Minister of Tourism; Samuel Pereyra, Administrator of Banco del Reservas; Eduardo Grullón, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFP Popular, Héctor Garrido, Chairman of Pioneer Investment Funds and Fernando Hazoury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cap Cana and other prominent special guests.
