All-inclusive resorts are a super appealing place to stay during a beach vacation. But sometimes even the nicest, fanciest resorts can still have a bit of a “hotel” feeling. And even though you’ll be swimming in the ocean, dining in the restaurants, and walking on the beach barefoot, you still want to spend a bit of time in your room.

There’s where apartment-style rooms come in. With a living room and a separate bedroom or two, depending on the size of the place where you’re staying, you’ll feel like you’re staying in an apartment or condo instead of another boring hotel room. And it will definitely make you feel at home during your time away, which will make you even more comfortable.

Occidental Tucancun In Cancun Has Huge Suites

When you stay at the Occidental Tucancun in Cancun, Mexico, there are a few options for an apartment-style stay. Choose the Premium Level Family Room with Sea View which has a kitchen, a king bed, two double beds, a couch, living room, and a microwave oven. You could also pick the Premium Level Ocean Front Suite.

According to this review on Trip Advisor, these villas offer a lot to guests: “Our villa was beautiful and almost 1400 square feet. There was a large balcony from the living room and master bedroom with another balcony from the 2nd bedroom. The living/dining area and kitchen were huge! Both the master bathroom and guest bathroom were large and accommodating.” It definitely sounds like you get quite a lot of space, so this wouldn’t feel like a typical hotel stay.

As we can see from these photos, the kitchen and living space are both charming. You can picture yourself sitting on one of those stools at the counter, having coffee or breakfast in the morning. The blue and white striped couch and chair cushions in the living room are super nice as well.

The resort has some good dining options: La Claraboya restaurant which serves seafood, La Trattoria which offers Italian, and México Lindo which has Mexican food. You could play everything from water polo to tennis, and you can even exchange money at the front desk, which is really convenient.

Sanctuary Cap Cana Has Charming Villas With A Peaceful Feeling

Another all-inclusive that offers more than a traditional hotel room is Sanctuary Cap Cana. These villas have a very different feeling than the previous resort so both offer up great choices depending on what type of decor you’re into. The apartment-style rooms here almost look like something that you would expect to see in Paris or the French countryside. There is a lot of beige, along with white curtains on the French doors, and it seems like a lovely place to spend a week or two (if you’re lucky).

Someone shared on Trip Advisor that they stayed in the Monarch villa and wrote that there was even a butler. They posted, “The villa was beautiful, and it was nice to have someone to set up reservations for us at the two restaurants that required reservations and at the spa.” As we can see from this photo, the villa is definitely charming, with the color scheme being a lot of white and beige. The couch and chairs look really comfy, and the art, lamps, and carpet are a nice touch. According to the hotel’s official website, the Monarch villa is 1,050 square feet and you get your own terrace. The Castle One Bedroom Suite is even bigger at 1,850 square feet.

When you want to leave your amazing villa and eat something, you can choose from international food at Casabella, seafood at Blue Marlin, The Steakhouse, Wok (which serves sushi and other Asian cuisines), or Italian food at Capriccio. This resort even offers up more casual places to dine: there’s Burger Factory where you can get, of course, burgers, along with Tacos Truck. There’s even an old-fashioned bakery called Sweet House which would be fun to check out.

When you’re searching for a different kind of all-inclusive experience and would rather stay in a charming apartment than a regular room, these two places should definitely be under consideration. They’re both nicely decorated and spacious and you might even want to move in there permanently (especially since the beach and ocean are super close). One can dream.
