Source: El Caribe

Los Establos in Cap Cana will have a weekend full of good music, with the Jazz Festival of the Dominican Republic, starting this Friday 30 and Saturday 31 of August.

This year, the event is held with the slogan “Tribute to jazz in Latin America”.  And will have featured performances by the Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés, the renowned Dominican salsa artist José Alberto “El Canario” and Walter Smith III from the United States and Berklee Global Jazz Institute.

On August 30th, at 10:30 in the morning, The Cap Cana Heritage School will host a free music workshop for children, followed by another workshop at the Punta Cana Music & Arts Academy. The workshops will be given by Marco Pignataro, artistic advisor to the Festival and executive director from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. At 9:30, at the Cap Cana Marina in its fabulous beach front restaurant called Api Beach, there will be the usual Jam Session, a tradition in the world of jazz. In this event musicians improvise in a random manner and share their outlook on soulful jazz music.

The celebration to jazz music continues on Saturday at 7:30 PM in Los Establos. The concert will culminate at 11:30 and another Jam Session at Los Establos Cavalier Restaurant will start.

This important, non-profit musical event is organized by FEDUJAZZ and has the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Cap Cana, the US Embassy and Karisma. We would also like to thank our amazing sponsors, Secrets Cap Cana, APROCAP, and VisaNet for all their support.
