We are currently going through a severe drought in the Dominican Republic. This has been going on for eight months and its been the most severe drought in the last 30 years. Its expected to continue until the beginning of May. Let’s cooperate with this alarming situation with the following actions:

  • Take a shorter shower
  • Install a water meter
  • Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth
  • Be water efficient in general
  • Do not wash your car through the drought

There is a new proposal, the Sustainable Development Goal 6. And its goal is crystal clear: water for all by 2030. By definition, this means leaving no one behind. But today, billions of people are still living without safe water – their households, schools, workplaces, farms and factories struggling to survive and thrive. This World Water Day, March 22nd, is about tackling the water crisis by addressing the reasons why so many people are being left behind.
