UNIBE OBTAINS THE HIGHEST POSITION AMONG DOMINICAN UNIVERSITIES IN THE QS LATIN AMERICAN RANKING 2018

The Latin American QS Ranking placed the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) at the highest level among the Dominican universities and in the 123rd position for Latin America, which managed to increase 28 points in relation to the last measurement of 2017.

The indicators that measure the Latin American QS Ranking are the academic reputation of the institution, employers’ opinion, citations by published articles, proportion of teachers per student, professors with doctorate, publications by academic, impact on the web and international research network.

These results reflect the achievements of the University, which has focused its efforts on achieving the objectives assumed in its Strategic Plan, prioritizing the areas that now allow it to position itself in a leading position: Academic Quality, Research Impulse, Linkage University-Business and Internationalization.

The formulation of an institutional Educational Model based on active learning strategies and supported by pedagogical resources and state-of-the-art technology, teacher development and accompaniment programs, competency-based curricula, as well as student support systems are the main initiatives that promote academic quality in the institution.

The international approach of the university, which has been a characteristic since its founding, has been consolidated through more than 160 agreements with foreign universities and institutions, more than 65 options for student mobility in 20 countries, double degree and the overall approach of the curriculum.

For several years, UNIBE has set the goal of being the benchmark in academic research in the country. Today, a team of researchers with excellent training, dynamic, committed to excellence and ethics, lead lines and research centers on issues of relevance to national development and contribute to the creation of global knowledge.

From the Laboratory of Neurocognition and Psychophysiology, the Institute of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, the Center for Research in Biomaterials and Dentistry, the UNESCO Chair in Social and Academic Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities and Special Educational Needs, as well as from different schools, researchs are carried out and published through projects carried out with national and international competitive funds, many of them in collaboration with leading universities and research centers, such as McGill University, National Geographic Society, Tulane University School of Public Health, University of Alabama, University of Pennsylvania; University of Tennessee, Kings College London and University of the Forest (Colombia).
